Currently have a (hateful) bmw Ix 40 thing on a cheapish lease deal. I hate it, but that's another story. It's done 5500 miles in 18 months and all 4 tyres are down to 3mm of tread so looking like i'll have to replace all 4 (at £300 a corner) before it goes back in 6 months. Just wondered if anyone else had experienced such tragic wear or whether I've got some absolute friday afternoon tyres?
I've owned plenty of heavy/performance cars and never seen less than 12-15k out of a set, even on 4-500bhp stuff. My supercharged l322 will happily do 20-30k on a set so this seems completely mad to me.
It's not even as if it's the 'hot' version and my wife drives like miss daisy in it, so I'm totally baffled (and aggravated).
Anyone had any joy in telling BMW they're jokers fitting tyres to a car that can't even last 10k miles?!

She did but crashed hence the family hired a chauffeur, so if the OPs wife is driving like Miss Daisy he'll have more than tyres to worry about.

Changed my M60's factory tyres at 18k, the rears were completely dead on the inside shoulders but the fronts were barely half worn and are still sitting in my garage as spares.

Sounds strange to me for a gently driven 40 to get less than 1/3rd of the wear.
