Bmw dealer - parts
Discussion
Morning
I'm not sure people's experience of parts departments- inhabe tended to buy on line since 2008 time
But I needed a pair of alu starter bolts today and amazon could offer me a pair of chinesium ones next day (and i have had similar ones twist and snap under virtually no torque) for a tenner or i could get them from Lithuania or Germany in a week or so for £20 ish.
Phoned Vines Redhill, they can have them in by mid day and under £9
I am pretty pleased by that and I think i will be trying them more often in future. Which I'm sure they'll love, because obviously anyone crawling around under their 16 yo bmw is a prime candidate to drop £70k on their latest electrical box.
(There is a bmw garage selling partd on Ebay but delivery doubled the price for small stuff like this.)

+1 on this. In the past I've received such excellent service from the parts dept at what was Rydale Wolves (very technical and unusual request when retrofiting nav to a z4 and they really went the extra mile) that I wrote to the dealer principle to name and thank the excellent person involved.
