BMW 520d Egr cooler recall with gutted DPF
Discussion
Good afternoon,
I have a 2015 520d and have noticed it has a gutted DPF on it. I’ve got the car booked in for the EGR safety recall in a few weeks and wondering if I done this recall would I likely have running issues due to having the DPF.
I am assuming although I don’t know for sure that the previous owner has had the DPF mapped out but no idea if this is the case
Anyone else ever presented their BMW for this recall with a gutted DPF ? Did it present any running issues ?

You can't code the DPF out, but you can code the EGR out. Well, the ECU needs remapping to be more accurate.
You shouldn't get any running issues as the differential pressure across the empty DPF carcass will always be zero, so it will never request a regen.
The only issue you might get is O2 related, since the cat is also removed and the front and rear sensors won't agree with each other.
