Hi all

Planning my next car change, and thinking of one of these, it'll not see much use around 3k p.a. happy to spend up to £10k. I'm not a fast driver so 3.0 engine would be OK, currently I drive a CLK 280 and that's fine.

What should I look out for? Refinement and low NVH is more important than performance, although I do like a car that steers nicely.

Back seat for a medium size dog, also looking for black trim.

These generally come with RFT so I'd try and find one with good old fashioned go flat tyres because they'll be quieter and just much nicer.

Thank you useful to know.

In terms of drive and reliability is there much to choose from between the E64 & F12 models? I'm not too worried about infotainment etc.

For your budget you want the F series; the E series are long in the tooth now and the tech's old really...

You'd be looking at a 640i F12 really; as an example: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/387812408469

They do the 640D as a convertible too, but a diesel engined vert doesn't make sense to me personally
