X5 and N63 engines

Hi I'm contemplating the next big car choices for my fleet and keep circling back to an X5, however i'm familar with the horror stories with the N63 and just wondered if they got any better with the TU updates or if they are still a time bomb? Is there a better generation F15 or the later G05?
