Would a serviced n53 that’s had replacement injectors around 40k be due another set after 115k miles? Lots of bad press on this engine

Not out of the question at least some of them are worn out.

Due to the statified duty cycle, they fire 2-3 times per compression stroke IIRC, so they work 2-3 times as hard, plus they're made of cheese.

I think if you run the ISTA diagnostic it can test the injectors, but I always avoided that as I presumed it would flag them as out of tolerance.

If you've a misfire it can often be a neighbouring cylinder thats faulty as the output is checked per bank, so leaking injector 1 might show up as misfire on 2 & 3 as it tries to lean off the bank enough to get the mixture down, or something.

Been a while since i had one. I remember the anxiety of a cold morning start biggrin.

Yeah, what Mike said! 60-70k miles could well start seeing problems with leaking/filters breaking down. Will be interesting to see the life of them since the recent (alleged) changes to production. I have everything crossed after replacing 6!
