Hi All,
My old E91 is thudding during initial acceleration unless you baby it. You can feel the thudding through the centre armrest. I believe it is most likely to be the Driveshaft Centre Support Bearing (CSB) and/or the Guibo (Flex Disc).

I have had a quote from a local BMW specialist to replace both that amounts to £627 inc VAT. The parts are 2 x joints and 1 centre mount.

Qty Description Price
2 Universal joint (26 11 7573276) £281.56
1 Centre Mount, aluminium (26 12 8615622) £91.51

I thought to double check here if ballpark as the garage are new to me although they seem to have good reviews.

I recall in the past buying components from Cotswold BMW and we could get some kind of discount. Is that still a thing and if so (and if anyone knows) what are the contact details? The garage have no issue with me supplying parts.

Thank you for any thoughts

You can get the parts cheaper than that, no requirement to buy dealer parts given the age of the car.

Another thing to consider is the mechatronic unit.

I've had to replace the rubber bits on an E32, then have the E38 transmission rebuilt. Both were a very long time ago now, so my memory of what was what issue has somewhat disappeared from my memory.

Yup; you'll not go wrong with C3BMW

Febi Bilstein or Meyle HD for the parts - part numbers as you've confirmed but can also get them via www.realoem.com

Deffo check eBay too as they've got some good discounts running currently; could be more savings to have
