Hi everyone,

I’m currently in the market for a BMW M240i (F22) and was hoping for some collective wisdom from the sub on a few specifics before I pull the trigger.

The Goal: I’m looking for a 2018–2020 LCI model black or grey. I’m specifically hunting for the ZF8 Auto with under 60k miles.

The Must-Haves:
• Harman Kardon audio.
• Pro Navigation (Widescreen).
• Full BMW or specialist service history.

The Dilemma (Pre-GPF vs. Post-GPF):
I’m leaning towards a Pre-July 2018 build to avoid the GPF for the better exhaust note, but for the right car (lower miles/better spec), I’d consider a later 2019/20 model.
For those who have lived with both, is the sound difference significant enough to pass on a newer, lower-mileage Shadow Edition?

Also do most people just remove the GPF?

I’ve got the funds sitting ready for a straightforward private sale (no part-ex, no finance hurdles). If anyone here is thinking of moving theirs on or knows of an enthusiast-owned example that hasn't hit the mainstream sites yet, I’d love to hear about it via PM.

A few questions for the owners:
1. Is sunroof a must have?
2. Aside from the usual B58 coolant checks, is there anything specific to the 2018+ electronics I should be wary of?

Thanks in advance for any leads or advice!
