Hi - I’m new to this Forum & hope someone can advise me please. Two months ago I bought a BMW Used & Approved X1 X Drive 2.3 - 2022/23 from a BMW dealer - it had low mileage (15,000), one owner, a good customer who bought from garage. I suddenly realised this weekend that front passenger side alloy does not match the other 3 and tyre is different from other front one which immediately made me question what has caused this - no mention of this in sale particulars & to be honest not something I would have thought I needed to check. Of course I am outside 30 days return & over 1000 miles stipulation, but I understand under 2015 Consumer Rights Act I am protected and garage should replace alloy and tyre. I phoned to speak to Sales Manager 4 times yesterday without success & despite assurances he has not rung me back - response so different when you are buying! I have emailed him this morning, but can anyone advise please if I have a case? Surely mismatching alloys should not pass Used & Approved checks. Thank you. Carolyn

Take it back Carolyn

You have 3-6 months for issues to be rectified; so take it back to them, play dumb and hopefully they'll get it sorted for you

Goodness knows how they've missed an odd wheel rolleyes

I'm assuming you don't have the original advert?

Yes I do, no mention of mismatch alloys or one odd tyre. I have at last had an acknowledgement of my calls & my email to the Sales Manager at the BMW Garage, no personal reply but just referring me to BMW complaint procedure. Response so different when it’s a complaint rather than sales enquiry! Thanks for your reply to my query.

Surely, if you have the original advert this will show that one alloy is different.

Rather than calling/emailing, print out the ad & go there, make a point of seeing the sales manager.

Presumably the photos on the advert demonstrate the mismatched alloys? (so you can prove it was like that on purchase rather than dealership claiming you switched it later).

I would absolutely escalate the complaint.

They so say, dealers are your best friends prior to purchase. They only show their true colours afterwards if/when there are issues.

Good luck getting it sorted.
