I looked at the handbook and see that I should have 2 parts for the wheel bolts. Am I missing something since the tyre was changed?

As an aside I had the locking wheel nut key snap on my F82 last week and had to pay someone to come out and remove the remaining locking wheel nuts from the car for me (I had already removed one myself). After paying a £80 call out fee and £20 per wheel nut it's safe to say i'll never keep locking wheel nuts on a car again.

I do have a feeling that when I had some suspension components replaced last year they may have used an impact wrench to tighten the locking wheel nuts

I haven't run them since 2010 and had a battle of getting all 4 off my E38 at that time - never again

As you said; it only takes one idiot with a dugga-dugga gun to spin them on so tight and then they're not undone for ages...

I keep meaning to take them off my daily Aygo snotter. No one is going to steal those wheels and locking wheel nuts are potentially far more hassle than they are worth.

I've not bothered on any car for past 10yrs, but I don't own really expensive stuff.
