Hey There,

Does anyone know of any good independent specialists around Worcester...I have always got my gf's 318is serviced at a main dealer. Now its got 150k miles on and the services are going to be about 30% of the value of the car it seems silly to continue to pay top whack. However upto this point it has given 100% reliability and I am a little worried that unless i find a good specialist independent this isn't going to continue!

Any recommendations?

thanks

Tim.

A bit off your patch but I use :

Gloucester B.M.W Specialists
01452 300150
11-12 Eastville Close
Eastern Avenue, Gloucester, GL4 3SJ

If you book a service etc in good time you can normally have a courtesy car to run about in for the day (on your insurance). Normally a fairly new Corsa.

They know their stuff and are pretty up front if there are problems that you weren't aware of. The've done my last 3 Services, Insp 1, Oil Service, Insp 2, plus sorting out the SES light (O2 Sensors), plus discs and pads all round and the last MOT.

Thanks for the reply, out of interest how much did they charge you for dics and pads all round? I just got quoted £550.00 by the Solihull BMW.

Thanks for the info, I might well check them out!

Cheers

Tim.

If you want a sensible 'local garage' you can trust with a very sensible labour rate (circa £30 an hour) then i would suggest Pole Elm Garage, Upton Road, Callow End, Worcester 01905 830355

That seems a good deal, does it include labour? Mine were OEM parts and they came in at £598 + plus labour, however it is a 'M' car so I guess things are allways a little more pricey.

My recent Insp 2 was £468 and included new fuel filter, 2 anti roll brackets and a few other bits. Dealers were a good few hundred more.

Another for www.allenpmw.co.uk

Took the newly aquired 520i there for an oil service (supplied own oil) for a bargain price of £38! (Its just not worth getting under the car and not getting a stamp at that price!)

Very thorough and honest approach

Definately recommend if your in the Worcs / Glous / Warks Area

Hi all, last year I found a really good Independent BMW Specialise in Worcester run by a chap called Travis. They seem to be doing really well & I noticed on fb that they've just had another ramp fitted as their busy. I took my 5 series touring e61 and my wifes e91 touring in over the last year or so and have been really looking after. I introduced a friend with an e36 BMW which was running lumpy and he was really impressed too. www.absolutebm.co.uk, the numbers 01905 723 311

Another vote for Travis @ Absolute BM he has a brilliant knowledge of all things BMW meaning less time is spent diagnosing potential issues and my car is back on the road asap! He is also really good with coding whether it’s comfort features or faults you have biggrin

Hi I totally understand your feeling about how servicing at the dealer starts to become expensive once the miles are up 150k on a 318is is quite a bit, and 30% of the vehicle's value does seem a bit steep for each service. There are some good independent BMW specialists around Worcester who specialise in keeping older models on the road reliably, without main dealer prices, and many people have reported good experiences with them for both routine servicing and the odd bigger jobs, such as suspension or timing chain work. Out of curiosity, has the car needed any major parts to be replaced so far, or has it been mainly routine stuff? I have noticed that just as often when taking a trip, people like to check out reviews or some measure of reliability on services such as Bnlboston Limo it is sometimes well worth having a glance at customer feedback on independent garages so you can get an idea of how trustworthy and consistent they are.

Another vote here for Travis at Absolute BM. Great service, very knowledgeable. They're busy for a reason.
