Can anyone give me an idea on what main dealer labour rates are please?

I suggest taking it to a lawyer. You'll get the same amount of service, but at a reduced rate.

Locally £110 plus VAT an hour.

A mere £90 plus VAT an hour for Four-Plus [ older cars ].

My five year old BMW will soon no longer visit the BMW dealer network.

Same here, just add that local BMW specialist £45 plus VAT an hour - bit of a no brainer really unless you have a BMW warranty.
