It's a good car, but nothing compared with an M3.

and are you still tuned into Derv driving? If you were waiting for the mid range punch then you would be dissappointed, 330ci needs thrashing to go!

A friend of mine had a 330 saloon and I must admit I was a bit underwhelmed by the whole thing while trundling around the M25. A little too harsh on the bumps (sports suspension) and silver interior was a bit too whaaaa.....

But, then we got to some twisties and he let rip. The way that it flowed from corner to corner, powering out of each one really illustrated that there was a massive difference between it and other cars. It was VERY quick and with commitment and a bit of skill it was stunning. In comparison, my old A4 Audi left me cold and bored, so much so that the chassis positively detered you from driving quickly....

Sometimes you just cant get that over in a test drive. Would suggest another drive on your fav road and see what the difference is. But as already said, horses for courses...

Its weighs approx 1700kg with the autobox, with 231bhp, 221 lb/ft torque, its never going to be quick. Mpg about 19 at best in mine or 14-15 if on a thrash. In terms of fuel a M3 would cost no more.

This was a manual box. 5 speed. 1660KG IIRC. Almost as much as my 530d.

I drive my parents 530d sometimes, mid range is awesome, but it still doesn't like a true 6

Not sure how you got the fuel figures so low, my 330Ci has averaged over 27mpg for the 120,000 miles it has done!

We get close to 30mpg when behaving ourselves and mid 20's when not...

Our 330i Touring has been tweaked and now moves rather rapidly...I would recommend a new ram air filter, a remap and a cat-back exhaust to anyone looking at buying a 330, it really does transform the car.

I got 45mpg from mine today on a trip from Northampton to London.
60 miles of M1 at 56mph is NOT fun.

Had a puncture earlier and had a space saver on.
