I use a chap in Farnworth (bolton) by the name of Martin AKA Bolton Motor works. Hes is very good much better than the main dealers and very reaonable on the price side too.

if you decide to get it done at a stealer- you can haggle. Avoid Williams!

'sfunny, I found Williams to be great and the other two to be completely gash.

Another recomendation, Rockwell BMW Stockport, knowledgable and the only garage I've ever come across who refused to charge me for investigating a rattle that they couldn't fix.

Agree with the "avoid Williams" answer, and that includes Williams Bolton.
Benhams in Stockport have always been a much nicer bunch to deal with, and don't take the p155. However, have used BMTech in Manchester for repair work and found them to be excellent, if a little crowded. Last job was indicator bulb on the X5 (headlight out, 1 hours labour) £109 & Vat & bulb from Williams Bolton. BM Tech..............quoted me "about £40 & Vat" over the phone and charged £38 plus pence as only 30 minutes labour !
