side lights e46

can anyone help i put some led bulbs in the side ligts bulb 501. and the front indicators light up plus the warning indicator light come on in the dash. to say bulb has blown my car is 330ci e46 can someone help many thanks

LED's operate at lower resistance than standard bulbs and therefore your check control system on the car is reading the lower resistance as a blown bulb. I think you need an inline resistor on the the sidelight wiring to create the correct resistance on this circuit. Not sure from your post whether you are referring to your sidelights (in the headlights) or the side repeater lamps???
