I have been invited to a track day at Goodwood in May. I know the track as I have ridden the bike round it, however they don't allow bikes anymore so I am taking the 535d (DMS'd.

Any advice would be welcome.

I've been thinking the same thing...same car as well !

The part that i'm concerned about is the brakes. Bringing all that weight to a halt is going to destroy the OEM disk / pads I reckon...

Goodwood very flowing though so maybe ok...

I saw a 535d with AP's at Silverstone this year. He'd clearly been enjoying himself. I'm sure that it's more than capable of tackling a UK track. Just be sure to let it idle for a few mins after each session. I've regularly used my 330d's at the Ring and never had an issue

I will be taking my E60 onto a track as soon as I get the nerve and the weather is more predictable! First 'sports' car I've had that I'm nervous to track in... but it will happen!

A guy I know has a 535D that's been chipped, lowered, and fitted with an AP brake kit used to track his car quite a bit. A 8.37 BTG lap of the Nurbrugring is pretty damn good in a car that weighs the best part of 2 ton. The car was quick enough as stock, so go for it.

Here's his Nurburgring vid www.youtube.com/watch?v=qkeuH2JfPo8

Experiences from my E61 535d & friends E60 535d are that brakes will probably be an issue and my gearbox wasn't too chuffed either. Perhaps use a hire car :-)

Never took my DMS 535d Sport on a track, but had my DMS M5 round the Ring a few times, 2 days at Spa & Oulton Park twice. She's playing at Donnington on the 29th Dec as well.

TBH the car performed on each occasion perfectly. She's stock excluding the DMS mapping.

At the Ring in May, one of the E60 Forum regulars with a DMS E60 535d Sport was very quick round the track (quicker than me). He has mucho track knowledge but the car performed very well & scared plenty of more capable metal.

Just do it as you'll have a blast.
