E36 CABRIOLET ROOF ISSUE

Have an E36 cab with various micro switches have failed. Does anyone know any good indie BMW specialist in Sussex?

What seems to be the problem? what is the roof doing/not doing?

Only partly goes up or down. Roof will go down but cover will not close. Etc Etc Any ideas?

sounds like it needs re initialising or the tension straps are slack/worn.

to initialise release the hood motors-lever under rear seat base.

Stow away roof (open)

You then need to open the boot-push down on the stow away cover on the o/s hard to activate the microswitch and then press boot button while you still hold the stow away down.

Remove the nearside carpet trims to get to motors.

You should be able to push the one lying down above back in-may need a bit of force-slam it in.

Then the one on you immediate left behind the black panel(2 cables your side of it and an arm)slam that one back in-you may need to push down on the stowaway to help it in.The stow away will be 10cm from closed-thats how it needs to be

Once they are back inboot shut and with ignition off,press the button to close roof and hold-turn ignion to P1 still holding button.After about 20 seconds the stow away will drop/close and then the roof will go through a close cycle.Once thats done its ready to try.

Hope this topis is still good....
Today, whilst pulling out an old cd changer lead i noticed a handle under the rear seat in my '95 M3 Cabriolet, and gave it a tug.
What a stupid, ridiculous thing to do!!
I now realise the consequences and have kicked myself repeatedly up the arse.
I found the resolution above but, as much as iseem to be on the right track, it isn't solving the issue entirely.
It is dropping the motor's (from when i initally tugged the lever), which i am putting back into position, and then pos 1 on the ignition and hold close, it drop's the 1" or so from where it naturally sat until it's sealed down properly. From there it does nothing more.
Any help or advice from anyone with the slightest inkling and i'd be very grateful.
I have contacted bmw specialist and they won't quote as it is apparently an unknown (the time to complete - ranging from 1/2 hr to 3 days......????).
So if i can do it myself i will be pleased as punch........And therefore all around me will as well.
