Hi out there to the forum, I am new to the site & to BMW! Just bought a 2002 530d sport & love it - it has all the toys but NO TV!! Any ideas how I would go about getting TV? Car has full comm pack & sat nav already & telephone etc... can I get a dvd to get the TV on or does the car need to be installed with equipment? Would appreciate any comments or links help me sort this out
Cheers Jayne

Hi Jayne,

TV was an option, even for cars with sat nav, this is the tv module.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Original-BMW-E38-E39-E46-E53...

If your car has a widescreen monitor then go of the 16:9 tv module, (it will run both 16:9 amd 4:3).

There should be a blue and white plug in the boot next to the radio module that the tv plugs into.

hope this helps

Just thought you may need to install the tv antenna (located both siide of the rear bumper), could be a lot of work.

keep your eyes open for the rover 75 TV module as well, that will also fit (and will be cheaper).

From personal experience the TV is not very good.

I had the TV fitted in a 2006 X5 and it was next to useless.

TV is crap in mine and how often are you stationary in your car in park (auto) or with the handbrake on (manual) and have a burning need to watch TV? Spend the money on something useful like an Aux port for the stereo and a decent iPod or similar!

Well my dad has a TV in his 530d and it works great! He lives in the sticks & pic not too good there - BUT when he comes to Liverpool & we go shopping he has a whirler sitting there waiting for me watching ready steady cook!!! I am district nurse & a TV would be very useful for me on the nights - sitting waiting for a call!!! So I think I will try it out...I will stick to the ebay option though and go for a cheaper way instead of main dealer... Love my car though 1st BMW I have owned - changed from an Audi A6 and love it although the sports seat are a little uncomfy on the old back...thanks for your replis any more!!! this is great eh?
