I've only had mine for just over three weeks and only done around 300 miles so the engine is still very tight and obviously nowhere near producing what it will in the future but I can vouch for the fact that this car is bloody quick.
I'm in the forces in Germany so it has seen a few quick miles on the Autobahn, the way it gets to 140 mph, the fastest I've had it so far, is amazing, as is the way it feels so steady at that speed you would think you were doing about 20. Economy isn't the best, I've averaged about 29mpg so far but the vast majority of that is town driving so lots of stop start.
If you are thinking of buying one, do it.

Must admit that I am very tempted by the 335d, Drivethedeal.com are offering extremely good prices on these cars new and it looks like this will tempt me to opt out of my company car scheme. A remap would be the icing on the cake, what sort of figures would one expect to see - 340bhp and 500lb/ft

Does anyone have any views on the Touring v Saloon from a space perspective, is the boot on the saloon as big as the Touring with seats up etc?

my saloon boot isnt massive but i can get by, I wanted a tourer (although i dont think they look as nice imo) as I also use mine as a towcar for the westy and its handy for getting my slicks in the back, but there was a ten week wait on a new one and I was luckily offered the car I bought at well under trade price so I ended up with a saloon and had my car trailer boxed with the money i saved !

They have a number of figures including a variety of chipped 330d and 535d from all the top tuners.
From experience of my 335d the figures of 6.1 to 60mph and 14.2 to 100mph feel about right to me. Of course they don't tell the full story as the huge amount of torque means you don't have to rag the car to make excellent progress.
I'd expect the touring residuals to beat the saloon as the whole point of the 335d is understated performance combined with practicality.

There are caveats aplenty on the website and everything has to be taken with a pinch of salt, and I guess the calculation is based on a petrol type curve?

I used to sell quite a few bmws and the 3 series estates for me were always harder to sell and I always had to sell them cheaper than the saloon, its strange as the audis are the other way the avants are worth a lump more and easier to sell on ..

My 2p's worth,got my 335d Coupe a few weeks back,waited for the M sport.Had all from 318tds to E60,e46 M3 etc etc between wifey and me.So we like the bmw's.Anyway 335d best engine and overall combo we've had by far.The engine is awsome and on road performance is in a different league!!! and that my furry friends includes the M3.
I'm considering a 335d now, have to say that I never thought i'd consider going back to diesel but this really is a truly stunning engine. Squeeze - how do you find the auto, i found the paddles to be the wrong way around, left should be going down the box and right should be going going up the box, for some reason both sides do both! Also, what sort of MPG are you actually getting, i've heard that it can be quite bad when pushing on?
