E36 alarm

My alarm has just started making a loud beep after setting (beep, pause for 2 minutes, beep) and ten starts going off. I took it for a long run thinking it might be a low battery but it did the same straight after the run.

Does anyone have any thoughts (other than get it to a dealer sharpish)?

It usualy means a circuit test has failed for example a door or the boot might not be shut properly so could be a failed switch if everything is shut.
