Anyone fancy a cheap motor
Discussion
Hi all,
My otherhalfs father has just picked up his new 330Ci and no longer needs his old 5-series BMW, so I've promised to shift it for him. It runs perfectly and has been in the family for the last 10-years.
95M 520i
Metalic Grey with full black leather, All usual extras including climate and alloys. Full Service History and 91k miles. Four new tyres just fitted. Tax and MOT.
Sensible offers, or advice on what it is worth please as I will be looking to put it on AutoTrader next week if none of you lot want it!

Sounds like a proper car, take time to do a lengthy add detailing the service history (dates, mileages where at), length of ownership etc with lots of pictures so people can see its not some multi owner dog, yes you could say FSH But at this age sellars interpritations vary enourmously! Prove yours is the real McCoy
Sell the provinence of the car! (assuming its as good as it sounds!) show pictures of the service book, spare kets and other documentation
Leather & Air is rare and desirable (not that many 520's had either never mind both)
New tyres (especially if they are metric) are a big selling point as they are soo expensive to buy
Privately to the right buyer and its as good as it sounds its realistically worth around £1700 IMHO ... and a great car for the money

Yeah that seems to be the price they are advertised for on AutoTrader. I'm not sure what they sell for, but I can promise to make sure whoever buys it gets a GOOD deal. I don't have the time to waist evenings showing people the car. I just need someone to turn up, make a sensible offer and take it away!
I'm trying to think of the bad bits I may have noticed.. I know the leather is all perfect, but the drivers door card/handle is worn and split.. and that really is it. There is no dents or dings and it's beens Johns car for at least the last 10-years.

If you want to sell trade, then these guys will pay a half decent sum, and it will most likely find a good home by them

I sold a 94 518i SE touring in brilliant red with 103k on it (no leather or air) but with total BMWFSH owned by us last 8yrs last year for £1775, guy saw the car and wanted it so hardly haggled as it was the best he'd seen if that helps you!

Think i'd be inclined to make it a smidge cheaper (£1795 £1750? ) in order to make it look competive (but draw comparisions with what else is one sale at the time you advertise) so as to get 'interest', then once someome views, let the car speak for its self and remain close to the asking price.
If the car speaks for its self and they are serious buyers then they'll just want it!.... rather than the one thats £400 cheaper down the road but lacking the condition and provenance
