E36 Heater and Air-Con not blowing
Discussion
Hi All,
Having a bit of grief with the BMW and its heating system:
With the car running, and the climate control working correctly, i.e. showing all its lights and its display (so if you increase the fan speed it shows on the screen):
Neither the heater blower nor the air-con fans blow. You can feel the air-con turning on and off when you press its on/off button (and the cold air trickles out) - but nothing 'blows'.
Fiddled with all the fuses, and its all correct and present.
I have had a search around and believe it to the A/C Final Stage unit to be faulty, and E36Coupe.com has detailed instructions on its replacement and fitting. Also here
Could anyone confirm that its the 'hedgehog' thats failed or is it something else?
Yours sweatily,
Neil

Thanks for all the replies chaps
It was indeed the Final Stage Unit as described - I replaced it with one from GSF and lo and behold I have a blower again.
There is also a issue that I was pointed towards (but haven't got) where the system goes a bit mad, but the display fails. This is due to a capacitor that gets loose, and needs resoldering.
Anyhoo, all sorted now
