Tyres options for Z4, not runflats

OK guys, i thought i might ask the experienced, im getting to the point where i need to start doing some research, I need to get away from runflats.... the car seems to being let down by them on the track....

My tendancy is to go for goodyear f1 eagles.... Your thoughts please???

I changed over a year ago to F1's, never looked back.

Better grip in the dry and especially in the wet. Reduces tramlining and the harsh ride. Oh and the tyres are also much cheaper. Can't see why not to fit them. I carry two cans of that puncture repair foam stuff. Also got a spare wheel and tyre in the garage that I can use if needbe.

^ what he said. Did the same thing a couple of months ago and moved over from the Bridgestone Potenza's to the Goodyear F1's and it's like a whole new experience! You don't get that trepidation and uncertainy in the feel that you get from the runflats, the F1's make the car feel more sure-footed and yes it grips a whole lot better.

If you fancy something even gripper and have deep pockets try the Michelin Pilot Sport. Will probably last a bit longer too.

i'll be picking up a 3.0 z4 on saturday which has 4 brand new runflat tyres so not really justifiable to replace yet.com so how bad are they, is it just ride comfort or is their limited grip?

Both.... the pre-face lift Z4's were never designed for run flat tyres, it was a last minute decision hence the harsh ride.

Dry grip is fine.... but wet grip is very poor. Now that could be only for Bridgestone RFTs, not got experience of any other brand.

Yeah tell me about it, its useless in the wet, and track use just scrubs the tread off!

I had f1 eagles on a saab conv, they were superb so, seeing as thier cheaper im gonna try and go for those i think!!
till though the mich ones sound compelling too.
