Rear end jacked up and won’t reset

Had a no start problem on a 530d (faulty fuel pump now fixed), whilst trying to sort the pump, battery went flat and presumably confused the electronics which decided to pump up the rear self levelling suspension. Rather hoped that with the battery re charged and the engine running it would sort itself out but not so. The local main dealer has tried to reset whatever but it remains fully up at the back. Any ideas anybody ? last time I had an electrical fault I had to seek a solution on here and then show the dealer which bit to change.

Come on somebody help me out here, how does the self levelling work. I have been without the car for a week now and it seems the dealer has no idea on what to do. It won’t respond to a reset command so they are scratching their heads.

Fry disconnecting the suspension ECU overnight and reconnect in the morning. It should reset with factory default values and sort itself out as soon as you start to drive.

Try pulling the suspension pump fuse then turn on ignition. Turn off, re-insert fuse, turn on and see if that sorts it.

The fuse is somewhere in the rear offside I think, can't remember exact one.

If that doesn't sort it then it must be whatever tells the suspension it's at the right height that must be buggered.

Thanks for the replies, any idea where the suspension ECU lives ? I found a post elsewhere saying that they can become confused if the car is jump started which exactly what happened. After taking off the jump leads the pump went crazy. I guess from that that it is probably hidden around the battery area (this is an estate car by the way)

This sometimes happens if the car has been jacked up with the ignition on, try disconnecting the battery with it on level ground that usually works if not for the more stubborn ones the ride hight needs to be reset via the diagnostics.

I presume you have checked the ride hight sensors wiring has not been pulled off or damaged.
