Can anyone help -

My 5 series wipers still work, but seem to have lost intermittent, hi speed and rain sensing functionality!!! They basically have one speed and whatever you do with the stalk smiply switches them on or off.

Is there a seperate ECU for the wipers? if so, is it likely mine is dying?!

Any clues gratefully received. (Local dealership was inept at checking what was going on - "er I'm not sure how your wiper stalk works" rolleyes)

The wiper relays can give up on the 5 series. Its quite easy just to try another one from a scrappy or somethin.... Under the bonnet, remove the nearside microfilter housing and you will see the lid of the E-box (electrics box), remove the lid, and the relay is the tall browny coloured one. Simply remove it and try another one.... Let us Know!!! Cheers.

they're about a tenner from bmw...I think.

Mine went and it did a similar thing, before giving up the ghost completely.
