130d 3dr vs. Z4 Coupé 3.0si
Discussion
Both different cars, but same engine and probably platform too. Do they actually drive differently? The Z looks definitely sportier and much, much better than the ugly 1. However, the concept of an ugly shopping car that has a powerful straight six and RWD is appealing, especially because it could as well be a 118i.
With similar options, the Z's only 10% more expensive than the 1, albeit I have the impression that the 1 is a bit more sophisticated technically, when BMW fitted all 1s with fuel-saving innovations. ADAC's running cost calculator says that cost €1014 per month to run (30k km pa), and the Z €1066.
Has anyone actually driven both, or knows some technical differences?
d'oh, I meant to write 130i, rather than d

The latest car with the ride and handling problems ironed out is a revelation compared with the original 1. That coupled with 3.0 engine, ideally in the 3 door body makes a great package.
I certainly throw my 1 series around much more agressively than I did with the z4c as I just find the 1 series more gokart like.
