I have a 97 323i coupe and I need to replace the brake pads. Its used for fast road driving and towing and I don't know what to get. Would it be best just to get standard BMW pads or get some uprated ones? If uprated what should I go for?
I don't want to spend a fortune as I'm hoping to change it for an M3 towards the end of the year.
Thanks
Peter.

To be honest, standard pads are well upto the job... the only time you will see them struggle is if you take your car on a trackday, if they get too hot, your brake pedal will go a little `soft`, but this is a combination of the pads and the brake fluid not being able to cope with the temperatures... but for the road, they are good enough.
