Dick Lovett BMW - Take a bow!
Discussion
Just a quick note to put on record the top service given by Dick Lovett Bristol on my 4 year old Z4.
Inspection 1 carried out promptly on Thursday - prior to forthcoming trans-Europe hoon.
Car is out of warranty, but rear coil spring replaced gratis by BMW.
Rain sensor is u/s, and Dick Lovett didn't hold out much hope but they submitted a claim anyway to BMW - have just been called by Stefan (good that one person takes ownership of job from start to end) to say that BMW will pay for the part (new windscreen!) and 50% of labour (if they paid for all, apparently there would not be any warranty on the job).
So top marks to all - BMW UK for agreeing to pay for work after the warranty had expired, and Dick Lovett (and Stefan in particular) for fighting my corner and saving me money.
This sort of customer service breeds brand and dealer loyalty.
Well done guys

I've just starting using DL's as well, they've been very helpful in getting some niggles sorted on my m3 even though the warranty had just expired and i've bought a car elsewhere, will definitely be getting all my servicing done there from now on, the 1st time I have ever said that about a BMW dealer and it's really good to see that some dealers still give a toss

glad to see they can satisfy some cutomers. Maybe the lengthy argument with management spurred a spate of staff training!
+1, I vowed never to use them again 3years ago, after they left my car without working wipers for a week, and having fixed the wipers I found they'd disabled the horn which meant another weeks wait because they were "so busy". Eventually I found out what I suspected the real problem was... they'd "borrowed" the fuse from my wipers to solve another issue elsewhere - possibly another customer's car, and then used the horn fuse to fix the wipers issue but couldn't be bothered to put another one to "fix" the horn....
Bearing in mind that prior to taking my car to them I'd not had any issues with either wipers or the horn.... And they tried to convince me that my car needed a full wiring loom replacement @ £4,500 plus labour and VAT !!
