Just ordered my new 535D M sport in carbon black, cream beaige leather, 19" whls, vision pack, high gloss black trim. Excited!!!

I want to get it chipped but I've got it on contract hire. Does anyone know if the chips are un detectable at servicing???

It's easily detected......by the grin on your face and the black lines as you leave the car park!

The good quality 'chips' are fairly well undetectable during routine servicing work. However should your car develop an engine fault the dealer will probably notice that some of the DDEs (engine ECU) identification, basic and programmed part numbers will have been deleted or replaced with 00000000 etc.
I've seen this on a 120d, and dependant on dealer they may refuse to carry out any work under warranty.
Can't gaurantee that this is true for all chips though.

however, even unchipped the 535d is a pretty awesome bit of kit...
