TMC in Europe

Does anyone know if TMC (2006 E92 Professional Sat Nav) works in Europe?

I think the carrier in the UK is Classic FM, but is there an equivalent for France?

It is certainly happy to plot routes to anywhere in France, but I fear we have booked our return the same weekend as 'Le Grande Return' when most of France head home from the south so TMC could be rather handy!

According to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traffic_Message_Channel#France) there is a French equivalent but will the Sat Nav find it/use it?

I hear that TMC is apparently much better in Europe (lot more detailed), so you're in luck

I assume the nav computer will automatically sort it, but otherwise you can manually select the station you want to use when you're over there.

My 2000W E39 TMC worked perfectly in France & Italy at Easter.

Yes it all works fine, if not better.

Make sure your station is set to auto.

Yes I have TMC on my Becker works very well indeed so you should have no problems.

I got very very stuck leaving Paris at easter - really could have done with TMC back then.
