Hi all - not sure I'm in the right forum, but I'm looking for words of wisdom from any Alpina owners please. I'm on the lookout for a new car at the moment and I'm very interested in the new 3-series coupe model (can't remember model name, but it's about £45k). I emailed the Alpina dealer in Canary Wharf this week, but not had a reply yet (not the best of starts), so hope I might get more joy here. Has anyone here driven one, or are they not out in the UK yet?

Anyone out there ever bought an Alpina from BMW in Canary Wharf? Any experiences you can share with me?

Anyone currently running an Alpina with any tips/ advice?

Many thanks all.

Simon

My advice is deal initially with Ged Scanlon (gedscanlon@sytner.co.uk) at Nottingham (0115 9341414).
He manages all Alpina sales in the UK, liaising directly with Germany.
All UK Alpinas are ordered through Nottingham/Ged.

Great cars (though just sold mine), fantastic service, and visit the factory at Buchloe if you can.

I'm running an Alpina at the moment (a Roadster like Gimlet used to have) and would thoroughly recommend them.

For buying try the out of London Sytner dealers like Nottingham (you will only be able to get new Alpinas through Sytners). I bought mine from High Wycombe from a very nice bloke called Luca.

As a sweeping generalisation and based only on my own experience, service at out of town dealers tends to be better than the Central London ones. They seem to take a bit more time and make more effort with you. Also, if you go on a test drive you are not limited to 30mph roads with traffic lights, bus lanes etc.

Hope your search goes well (very jealous as I would love a new B3).

The B3 E92 is now available for deposits to be taken though the first customer cars will not be available until March next year.
This Press Car that's in the UK at present is fitted with some pre-production parts and will go back to Buchloe for standard parts to be fitted.
