at that mileage, nothing! Nice looking car and a great drive. Front bushes and ball joints, broken rear springs, plenty of postings about these on this site if you have patients to go thru it. My auto is not as economic as I thought it might be, but my wife does lots of short journeys and likes to use the torque, mind you, so do I.

I have one from the same era. Wonderful car. It has the auto box which I think is well suited to the engine. No leather though?
Mechanically he has the limited BMW warranty and service pack so it's going to cost him not a lot. Might need new rubber though which will be 600 quid.
ETA: Sorry does have leather. Looks lovely - go for it he'll never look back.

With the warranty, everything is covered so the most a problem is going to cost you is the £100 excess, the weak points on this car are some suspension components, (warrantied up to 60k miles) and the fuel pump went on mine at c.60k but that was also changed under warranty.
Warranty costs about £6-700 to renew.
It looks like it's sitting down a bit at the back but they all do that.
Cracking car for the money as far as I can see.
