e39 engine problem

my e39 engine seem to be down i power when i drive it for the first time it s perfect ,but when i leave it for mabye hour our to when i get back in it wont tick over proper and it seem to missfire a bit and loss power is this common fault .it is 2000 model.

Take it to an indy and get a diagnostic run on it first.
