Hi,
I've got an 03 Coupe and have been out in the new one. I wasn't that taken. I'm keen to replace mine and get all teh new toys, but not sure I'm as taken by the newer one.
I'd be grateful to hear anyone's thoughts who's moved from the E46 to new shape Coupe....
What engine are you changing from/too??I've got an 03 Coupe and have been out in the new one. I wasn't that taken. I'm keen to replace mine and get all teh new toys, but not sure I'm as taken by the newer one.

What did you test drive ??
I've got the 3 litre currently and went out in the new 3 litre for comparison. I was expecting to want to beg and borrow for the 335, but I just wasn't as taken as I thought I'd be.
I felt a big difference from the previous to E46 model, but not the same difference from the E46 to current one.

I certainly felt quicker than my car, but it is more refined and seems to make less of an engine note under acceleration, so not very noticable.
Interesting to hear comments about not as much improvement over the E46 as E46 to the previous model. I've found similar being in friends cars, that there seem to have been a lot of advances in the late 90s as models are updated but less so now. The Ford Mondeo's a good example of this.
I'm intrigued by some of the new technology like brake pre tensing and whilst a very pricey option, radar cruise control seems incredible.

If your not taken by it then why bother changing? I've got a 325ci and the only car that I would like change to that I could realistically afford is a Z4 coupe. Have you looked at one of these? Obivouslly not an option if you need the 4 seats but they drive great and look stunning IMO of course, as soon as a few filter into the AUC i may be tempted.

Good point! Itchy feet mainly. I'm just interested to know what others have thought after changing to one.The Z4 is gorgeous and I don't need 2 seats, but I've had a convertable before and it didn't suit the sort of usage I give a car - high miles, mainly motorway driving and I regularly need to leave a car in dodgy places.
