STOP eating my pads! Advice on better brakes

Any advice on performance brake pads for an E46 330?
I've recently started doing trackdays and with another nurburgring trip planned in october I'm keen to get some better stoppers.

There's loads of choice advertised car mags so I thought I'd see what you Beemer-heads could advise...

Also, are these 'performance' chip's / re-map's etc worth considering?
They don't seem to increase the bhp all that much? ...
