New car time and just as I was settling on a 1-2 yr old E46 M3, then BMW throw a spanner in the works and present the 135i.

Now I think it looks great, and small overengined cars are great for our roads (imho), but is it going to be better than an M3, or even a 335i as an alternative.

And when are they going be tested in the mags, and when are they going to be in the dealers??

personally, I'd take a 2 yr old M3 over a 135i every single time unless I absolutely had to take a new car (which I do)

cheers for the heads up Tower View

alfaspiderman, why the M3 over 135i? M3 i guess more hardcore, vs 135i more useable. I drive around the houses a lot of my working day (you can guess from the username I have to see patients at home) and am worried the M3 may be a bit recalcitrant around town. 135i I was hoping may be more useable in this respect.
Question is, is it worth the golden day thrills of an M3 on those rare occasions, or should I compromise? Hmmm!?!

135i is coming out in November 2007, if you inform your local dealer that your interested & get put on their invitation list.

personally I don't like the looks of the 1 coupe and I think it'll depreciate like a relative stone (although I do love the 3.0 twin turbo engine)

I just think that the M car are a step up in terms of style and substance and, in this case, are a better investment

135i will probably depreciate like a rock, M3 will already have dropped a fair bit in value at 2 years.

I'm pleased you guys said that, because I think the M3 is an itch I've got to scratch, and I think I'd always be just a bit envious of the car next to me at the traffic lights if I were in a 1, and they were in an M-car.

I guess in a few yrs, when my M3 is starting to cost a bit, and a 135i is worth £2.50 the it may be a wise choice!!
