OK, forgive my first post here. Just become the owner of an e35 328i convertible, and noticed that the torch is missing. Before I start bidding on ebay can anyone tell me if these are a standard fit as people seem to imply, or if I need a specific one?

Failing that, has anyone found my one that must have fallen down the back of the sofa! biggrin

You need the white one: Plenty one ebay.

I understand none of the others fit as they are longer?

I'm missing mine, I tried to win a couple on Ebay and got fed up with beaten beaten at the very last minute by 2p, so have forgotten about it - its no biggy for me...

Also :

£12.91.

May go for one, and also order a bonnet badge, as mine is starting to look seriously knackered.

Haven't really looked in the glovebox much, but is there some plug at the back where it connects to charge up?

They're only £11 from the main dealers.

Always made me chuckle when I had my E36 - saw the torches going on ebay for £25+

Much like the E36 M3 Evo front splitter/spoiler extension. £34 from main dealers - pay anywhere up to £100 on ebay.

Jesus - really?

I've just removed my lower undertray spoilery thingy as I was missing a bit.

That would work nicely - but then then replacement for mine may well be just as cheap!

Time for a trip to the local dealer then!

My local dealer said that they are no longer in production, so it looks like ebay will be the next port of call, unless my local scrappy can find one.

Ebay was my friend. £3.99 and it arrived today. Used, but I just need to see if it works.

OK, so that one didn't seem to work. Just had another one, and the same problem.

Next step is to see if there is any power to the socket. Do you know if the socket is meant to be live all the time, or only when the ignition is on?

Failing that I have two torches to flog on ebay.

Generally live after the door is opened, when the ignition is on and/or up to 30 minutes after shut-off - at least on the E46. I think my E60 only has it live with the ignition on.
