Keyed 330CI Clubsport

Hi All,

My brother has just had his beautiful Estoril Blue 2004 330CI Clubsport keyed on both side (full length) by some B******d (s). He's heart broken and has reported the incident to the police and is going to speak with some local companies on Tuesday to see if they got anything on CCTV. However, I'd like to know if he can claim on his insurance he's (fully comp), whether it will effect his no claims bonus and roughly how much it could cost (possible full respray is required).

Any information or guidance would be gratefully received.

probably could claim on insurance but he will lose some NCB doing so unless protected? cost god knows! 300-500 quid i reckon?

300-500 to paint both side? get real!

I'd say £1200-£2000 (and you might aswell have the bonnet paint if its chippy)

Insurance yes you can claim, but it will effect your no-claims

I was going to buy a 330 CI but knew I would be worried about leaving it parked, decided to spend a quarter of the money and bought an E36 2.8 coupe instead.

Very sorry to hear this, I'll never understand the mentallity of these people (they really do deserve to be kicked in the face).

I had a similar thing happen to my previous car (Alfa GT 3.2 V6). Only had her about a month when someone keyed the bonnet, passenger side and boot.

It was dealt with by the insurance company so IIRC I lost a life on the protected no claims, which did increase my premium slightly (which sort of defeats the object of protected no claims).

The respray cost about £1500 and I hadn't even had a chance to get any stone chips yet!!!

i feel for your bro mate,had this done to my old coupe,its worse tham someone actually hitting the car in a way.

About 2 grand I reckon. Get it done at a proper garage too, if you're going to lose your no claims make sure you do it in style. Speaking from experience, the insurance company's "approved garage" tend to paint like a 3 year old, and the local BMW Approved Bodyshop paints with better than a factory finish.

I had an E36 painted via local BMW dealer, £3000 all in. I don't agree about a respray being better than factory finish though, unless the car is fully stripped and down to bare metal which will cost a lot more otherwise temps used to harden, dry the paint are no way hot enough when compared to the factory.
