I need to replace the pads on the front of my 328. Not got a Haynes so just checking that there is nothing out of the ordinary on the E36 that I should be aware of (particularly with regard to depth sensor).

I'll check the discs as well before I order the pads. Does anybody know min thickness for these on a 328?

So basic plan was:

Jack car up, axle stands

Lid off fluid resevoir

Remove bolts from piston side of caliper

Slide of Caliper

Remove old pads

Push back piston

Slide on new pads with copper grease on back sides

Replace caliper

Torque up bolts

Slide in shims

Work out what to do with sensor wires

Replace lid on resevoir, removing fluid if necessary.

Have I missed anything?

Was going to go with Mintex fast road pads from GSF. These ok?

I have just done a change on a e36 318is coupe.

BTH - for the cost of a pair of discs (£60) its a better solution to change both at the same time, pedal feel will be much better than trying to bed in new pads to old disks.

There is only one sensor on the nearside and its a pain. Also the first thing you need to remove is the large spring clip, use large sccrewdriver and then you will need to remove the pad carrier, two 16mm hex bolts.

Takes less than an hour to do both.

cheers

If they're the Extreme ones, then yes, seemed to work pretty bloody well for me coming down repaeatedly from 140/150mph last month (at VMax honest officer). They just grumble a bit at times.

I'd recommend.
