The car could happily do 500,000 miles if well maintained. Is it automatic as that'd be slightly better as the torque converter is vertually indestructable.

Have seen some with this mileage go for about £7k. There is a 209k mile 330d Sport for sale on Autotrader for £8k. It's been there for about 6 weeks, so is optimistically priced.

Depends on the spec etc, but anywhere from £6k-£8k I'd have said.

Cheers
Matt

surely not a 2000 year model, I have just done a Glass's valuation, although it will only go up to 150k miles, and it came back at about £3.5K

Part-exchange Price:
Excellent condition:
£8270
Average condition:
£7440
Below average condition:
£6570
Please note:
Unfortunately, we don't have a valuation for the requested mileage. However, we can value this car at 150,000 miles.

So yes, very optimistic.

Odd, that's the only bit that broke in my 70k mile E46, must have been all that Caterham towing smile

Very much so, there are others for just over £8k with only 100-120k.

I bought one a year ago for £8,500. 51 reg, 330d sport with 140k.
FBMWSH including new turbo at 100k.
Turbo went at 142k and the car caught fire on the M1. Luckily the insurance valued it at £10,500.

£8k is far too much for a high milage one these days, especially a pre facelift.
