The North East Region of the BMW Car Club invites you to come along with us to the historic City of York on Sunday, 4th November 2007.

Our base for the day is at The National Railway Museum where we will have our own parking area somewhere near the York Wheel. The NRM is a free attraction and is only a short walk away from the city centre.

If any of you would like to visit any of the chargeable attractions such as the York Wheel, Yorvik, Dungeons, Castle Museum etc. you may take advantage of the concessions we can get as a group.

Is there any sort of specific itinerary Nick, or is it an early morning run, then park up at the NRM, have a bit of a mooch and then do our own thing?

No pack drill at all.
The car park is ours from 9am to 6pm. I thought we could just use that as our base and we could do our own thing. I don't need to see or do anything but am quite happy to help those who need a pointer.

I'm happy with just a mooch about and a nice Sunday belly full.. there are plenty of good options for some food.

Lets see how many takers we get before we plan anything.

Why not give StuB a shout about the early hoon and sort a run out for those that want to do that.. and I will have the coffee and bacon butties ready for when you arrive at the NRM.

Oh yes! I love them, it's my third E28 but my first M535i. Next on the list is an M5 (if I can find one, and once I've had the M535i fettled, resprayed and made to look nice again!)

I have been writing about it in the club mag

My first one was a 520i, the previous owner had put a full leather motorsport interior into it. It was horrifically rusty though and didn't last too long.

I keep meaning to join the club, when are you guys going to get that E28 page sorted!? I'll get my backside into gear and get joined.

We have had some splendid E28's at shows this year.

I judged 4 absolute stunners at Harewood back in June.. 2 Alpinas, a 528 and an M5.

We get a couple of regulars at our monthly meet as well.

I agree that there is never very much E28 stuff in the mag.. but then who is gonna write it.. most of us ar far too busy organising trackdays, shows and trips to York!!

There is plenty of E28 reading on the 5 forum.

I've missed all the shows this summer due to work. I'm hoping on my next leave I'll get to at least one meet (York hopefully!)

I'm a huge fan of E28's and they really seem to have a bit of a cult following now, I'd love to have seen the show cars.

Guys,
we are planning on arriving at the NRM at around 11am.. doing the museum and then weather permitting strolling into town to find a nice pub lunch and maybe a go on the York Wheel before we depart.

Our parking area should be easy to find as it is will be coned off and there will be an attendant on duty

If any of you want to meet up first and drive to York together we will be setting off from the MacDonalds/services just off J36 M62 (Goole) at 10am sharp.
