I have decided to sell my car privately. Where do you pitch it?

I know what dealers are selling them for and offering in the trade. Should I be somewhere in the middle?

Its a 1 Series and the ad is already in the classifieds but didn't want to be accused of blatantly plugging it!

Your best bet is to look at all the other similar cars that are for sale privately and price toward the base of that- that way you'll know what you're up against, and your ad will stand out on price. If it's still under manufactures warranty (which I guess it is) you'll be getting closer to a dealer figure, but you still need to be significantly cheaper to lure people away from the shiny building with the free coffe.
For what its worth I've always aimed to ensure that mine's equal cheapest to comparable cars, as that way you will got shot of it quickly.
