Problem with my E36 MS Evo....

Can anyone help with a solution to this ? My key phob seems to have stopped working, have but a fresh battery in there and when i press the button a little red light comes on... however it does not unalarm the car !? If i open the door manually with the key the alarm goes off, i can even start the engine but the alram will keep going off till i have closed all doors and boot and locked the door...

Why can i not turn the alarm off ?? Anyone else had this problem ?

I had this once on my 318is. Have you a spare key fob? Dealer will fix it but I don't know what it will cost. Mine was done under warranty.
