E46 crome window strips

My 330ci crome window strips have gone a milky colour has anybody else had the same problem?Also is it possible to change them to the black shadow line ones?

Yep happened on the 2002 525i SE E39 Touring.....

They dont make em like they used to!

Should be possible to change em, but dont expect it to be cheap

mine have done that as well; I've heard they can be polished with a mild abrasive (like toothpaste!) and come up looking like new but I've yet to try it.
