Engine probs Alpina B10 3.3 ltr
Discussion
Hiya people
Just visiting your forum to ask a question for a friend. He has an Alpina B10 3.3 and has repeated problems with engine management defaulting to "crawl home" mode. A specialist fixed it for a short time by replacing the throttle stepper motor (as I recall) and flashing the E-Prom with the Alpina map. It has now come back to haunt him again.
So is this a "standard" problem with a known fix or is his an unlucky rare failure? Much appreciated....

Don't know exactly what diagnostics said but he's already had 2 new throttle bodies - unfortunately this seems to be a temporary fix. Have surfed the Alpina OC site and found reference to another sensor that can cause problems on the camshaft. It's currently with a specialist so we'll see if they find a definitive fix - I was just fishing in case it was a well known syndrome.
Cheers.
Cheers.
it's worth asking the guys on www.thealpinaregister.com forum for their advice
