Had the "Dipped Beam" warning come on this morning when I started by e34. Yep dipped headlight was out. Popped into Halfwits and lunchtime and brought the relevant bulbs (replacing the H1 bulbs in pairs), I always brought what I thought was the correct sidelight bulb (according to the halfords flip chart thing). Anyway just went to fit all the lights as it'll be dark when I leave the office. Pulled out the sidelight connector, removed the bulb and realised i'd brought the wrong ones! Doh. Pushed the old bulb back in, went to put the bulb holder back in then heard the sound of a bulb dropping somewhere in the engine bay.

So now instead of the "Dipped Beam" warning I now have a "side light" out warning!

At least i'll be able to see where i'm going no the way home tonight though!

Why were you taking out your sidelight bulb when it was the dipped beam bulb that was out?

That's why the bulb wouldn't fit - you're looking at the wrong bulb holder!

Or are you just getting your terms mixed up wink

No I decided to replace the side lights at the same time - I got tempted by the blue ones in Halfwits paperbag

That's alright then - at least you didn't drop the sidelight bulb down the fron of the unit and into the headlamp, necessitating a grill off & headlight assembly out procedure banghead

At least you've got slightly easier access on the 525 than I've got on my M5.

Well i'm not sure where the bulb is yet so I may still have to do that!

Yep only one scrapped finger so far!

At least i'll be able to see where i'm going on the way home tonight. I'd rather be without a sidelight then a dipped main beam!
