Oil Consumption - 2000 325

A 325 I'm interested in - a 2000 X 325i manual saloon with 126k on - is using approx 1 litre of oil per 1,000 miles.

It doesn't leak on the floor, and isn't smoking... where could the oil be going?

Is it something I should be wary of?

Apparently 1/km is within tolerances.
My 330, essentially the same engine, was using that much between its last 2 services. Turns out that the Castrol Edge Sport 0/30 was too thin.
Last service I used Mobil 1 and its been fine since.

I might ask what oil he is using. He's only selling to get a newer E46 330!

It needs a full set of discs and a clutch too, so working out how much needs spending on it!!
