320d Mtec Auto Coupe

I bought one for my wife a few months ago.
With one very significant exception (which I'll come back to), it's a great car.
Adequate power, looks good, comfortable, okay to drive, reasonable fuel consumption, easy to get a good discount.
The downside is the appalling orange peel paint finish.
It really is diabolical how they can sell a reasonably expensive +£30K car with this sort of shit covering the metal.
Interestingly, the usually vocal BMW salesmen on this forum didn't have much to say about it on previous threads. Maybe they will comment now?
Anyway, it's going legal now so we shall see.
According to other forums, and some discussions with other owners, pretty much all new 3 series coupes (including M3) have the beautiful cellulite finish at no extra cost to you, the consumer.

As said in the previous thread it is down to water based paints and is not exclusive to BMW.
Weve seen a few now and the paint wasnt as bad as you mention.....Paint asided overall how would you say the car drives?? She would have the auto hows that mated to the 2 litre diesel??? Ive looked into a DMS remap upto 202bhp only £400......we like the car and just want to confirm that hse wont be disappointed......performance wise was not to bad when we tried one today......put it like this this she can also have a 520d OR Audi A6 tdi S line......is the 320d better than the others..
Check carefully with the paint. It's on pretty much every new 3 series coupe and is a disgrace. It's funny how other manufacturers are not all afflicted by this.
The car you are looking at is the same as I bought, ie it's an auto. I have not driven either of the other two you are looking at but it's not a bad drive for what it is.
