Well done mate, a good choice. I've had my 51plate car for nearly 3 years now
and its been faultless. You won't be disappointed.
You'll no doubt get posts from the dag dag drivers telling you how Dr Diesel's
fiendish invention is much superior to your motor. Don't listen to them.
Although I haven't posted there for a while, you'll find lots of info and a friendly crowd on this forum.

Haha, yeah the derv boys will be along to tell you how much quicker the 530d is in the 'real world', what they never mention is they are heavier up front so it doesn't handle as nicely, there is loads more to go wrong and the turbos usually do taking the cats etc. with them, and they sound like a tractor unless you have all the windows done up and the radio on loud!
They also never seem to mention that they will cost £2-3k more for the same age/spec/milage car, which would take around 5 years to get back in fuel savings even if you do 18k miles a year.
The 530i is a great car, I have just gone back to one after a 535d sport touring, and it is so much nicer to drive, and I am seeing pretty much the same MPG as the 535d too, both are around the 26mpg mark. I reckon there is about 4 mpg difference between the 530i and the 530d, I can easily see 34mpg out of town.
The diesel makes more sense buying new as they cost the same and the derv holds onto its value better, at 3 years old they can have retained up to £4k more, at 5 years they still seem to be worth around £2k maybe even £3k more, it isn't until you get to 7 or 8 years old that they start to even out again.
But when you look at the figures properly you see that buying a 4/5 year old diesel doesn't start to make all that much sense.
