E39 530D Sports Touring

Hi,
Has anyone put a towbar on the Sports Touring model? BMW are quoting me 1900 euros, which is crazy, but I have been advised by Bosal that a major ugly bumper cut is required, not only to the black insert under the bumper but also to the bumper itself. Surely there is a model out there that would not require this kind of surgery/butchery?
Would appreciate any feedback on this.

Sorry, I don't know if saloon is different from touring but I had a removable hitch fitted to mine with only the smallest notch in the bottom of the black plastic in the bumper. Think it's a witter - can check if you like?

go to www.brinkweb.com; they should have a bar far cheaper, probably €300-350. Then it's just a matter of finding a local fitter.
